Title: Basic Chili



Brown beef in a medium pot.

Add onion and garlic to beef, sauté for about 2 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients save for the beans and cheese. Add water to achieve the consistency you want (about 1/2-1 cup). Simmer, covered, for one hour, stirring occasionally.

Stir in beans, simmer for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle cheese on top before serving.


A nice, basic chili without all those icky veggies getting in the way. On the plus side, reliance on prepared seasonings means that you can be eating chili in a few hours. On the down side, fresh chili peppers can really add a lot to a chili.
